I've caught a 4# once. On scales

I claimed it to be about 9# though

we got a place on the northshore where we catch these on the reg ... We've missed a few pushing the 10 lb mark just couldnt get them in the boat.

Carrot if you fish there again the secret is to fish only top water with flukes ... huge strikes over the grass mats.

3 of us on a 14ft flat would spend the day and catch well over 50 bass. Lots of fish in the 3-4lb range and then you would hook into a hog.

sounds awesome i will definitely be going soon, the shallow grass mats by the shore you're talking about or do you fish the deeper ones?

One of the benefits of living in Central FL is the great bass fishing. I've broke 10 lbs three times in the past five years. All were caught in private lakes in or around my neighborhood. It's hard to beat an unweighted fluke in March as thats when the big gals eat the best.

Carrot we fish the grass directly to the left of the launch in that cove and then on the other side of the lake off that shore line. The water on the on the other side has a huge drop from about 8-15 feet.

Havent been out there in like a year but its a killer place to fish as long as not a large number of people know about it and are brave enough to fish it without a permit.
