Headed to Hackberry tomorrow to try for some specks and reds.

Anybody hearing anything? I know the water is still muddy but is anyone having any luck in the area?

I'll be fishing Big Lake Saturday and Sunday with a buddy of mine who is a guide out of hackberry.

This is what he told me to pick up to use this weekend.

-Pink skitter walk
-Orange/chartreuse V10 skitter
-Super spook clown
-Chartreuse ice and opening night lil jons
- sand eel jr margarita.
-1/4 jig heads over 1/8 due to the wind.

Caught 2 limits of nice trout a couple weeks on the east side on mirrodines.

Went to the same area a few days ago and only caught 1 trout. Ended up catching 5 reds and 3 nice trout along the ship channel rocks using a shallow diving crankbait. That's always my go to when I'm out of ideas and usually good for a couple reds. I imagine live bait would do better but I never mess with it.

Water in the lake looked good earlier this week and West cove looked better the further away you got. from the channel

SE@13 today so I fished north with zero to show. Good water in lake, birds picked last Saturday so it’s close to busting wide open. Plenty bait up north along with dolphins in ship channel. Wind will be the factor for catching until July.

I have a couple of buddies fishing down there today, one is a guide. Only 7 fish caught between two boats. It's going to turn on soon. I bet it'll be next weekend since I can't fish.

LC has a tournament there next weekend. Maybe the following week can go again.

Still headed up tonight. My guide buddy said this morning between him and his one customer they caught 9 trout, 6 reds, and one flounder. Also said 4 of their 9 trout were above 3 pounds. Birds were somewhat working, but spotty. Should bust wide open any day now.

Got a buddy right now at West Cove with 13 trout, 2 drum and 1 red on shrimp. Wind blowing very strong, so that means they are probably on South shore somewhere.
