I’m not sure if the crab is even there anymore.
31 trout
2 reds
All the n the channel today, spot marked and I will be there am. Mullet were non existent in west pass am.

Fished Big Lake again last Saturday, a few days after that big storm came through. Got my first line in the water at 6:00 but the water was chocolate. Tried a few trout spots but no bite, so I pivoted to redfish. Fished a spot where a bayou came into the SE side of the lake and saw a TON of redfish rolling on top of the water. We were sitting on them for 1.5 hours, throwing everything we had - shrimp, soft plastic, top water - but not a single bite. It was very frustrating, I would have had my limited if I had a cast net.

I moved to the west cove by noon and finally found a big school of trout.

Sure
Spots are good for a limited time so it doesn’t bother me to give some out.

It’s beeen the windiest spring/summer I can ever remember. It’s been like a 2 day window for offshore. That’s about it. Lake
Is so open these days not many places to hide from windy conditions.

If its anywhere near as windy down there as it is in TX right now today would be brutal.

We hit it this am.

Slow morning. One nice red real early. Will try again tomorrow.

I did see a guide post a beatdown of bass, like 4 reds, and some sheepshead.

Think that shows how fresh the Lake is.

I hope you truly believe the saying “A bad day fishing is better than a good day at work”. It’s rough right now

I mean- i've had some days I felt like I should have just stayed at work! Haha

But in general yeah. We're on vacation. Going to try our best to get some filets to eat on. May work our way down to hackberry.

Black Bayou down ICW, bass are a dead giveaway of location
15 boats sat-sun and the fewest fish boated in years for this group and they have been coming 30 years.

If I trailer down to the west cove canal launch Saturday, how hard will it be to find a parking spot?

Actually that’s difficult question being that it’s the fourth. Sunrise you should be fine but bets off after. Last year I took wife but we left lift at 5 and were cleaning fish at 10:45.

We did better today!

Ran down south.

Found a few trout, a few reds, a bonus flounder, and some black drum!
