Are bass good to eat? 99% of all fish I eat are saltwater. mix in a tilapia now and then.

I have never once heard someone say that bass are good eating. I was wondering cause I'm contemplating on bass fishing this weekend

Fried bass in the one to two pound range will give trout a run for its money

I did one baked whole (scaled, gutted and gilled) with lemon butter and pepper recently. It was excellent. I fry the small ones, that one was cookie sheet size.

Bigger slabs we bake. Only reason we fry bass is because the kids love it. Baked with the right marinade and seasoning and the edges are like fish candy

I swear people who say bass aren’t good to eat are just regurgitating what some dumbass told them. Most people wouldn’t know the difference between Perch and Bass.

bass blows specs out of the water

My favorite for bass is to do an egg/milk wash, coat with italian bread crumbs, drizzle with butter and then bake at 500 degrees for 12 minutes. If the bass is over 5 lbs or so I cut the fillets in to smaller pieces. Big bass don't get nasty like big trout or reds.

Fry em up as soon as you get off the lake imo. Not nearly as good if frozen. It’s not bad, but definitely better fresh.

Buddy caught a nice bass last year, 4/5 lber. I would have thrown it back but he kept it. I ended up with it and cooked it on the half shell. Awesomeness.
