I have the same issue. I pocket carry a Ruger LCR. Ankle carry sucks for me and can't IWB with my my suits either. Thinking about putting a 1911 in my briefcase, though.

This is what I do. Always in a suit for work.

Go Dirty Harry style man. That would make wearing a suit worthwhile.

HaHa!! Looks like something from "Men In Black".

Broke,
I'd go w/ either a tuckable IWB holster or a 380 ACP "pocket gun" in the in front pocket on your dominant side. IWB carry will allow you to carry a better fight stopping round like the 9mm; pocket carry will be more convenient for you, but limits you to 380 and lesser rounds.
Shoulder holsters are a lot more popular in the movies than in real life. There are real problems w/ safely drawing a weapon from a shoulder holster. I don't know anyone who started out w/ ankle holster carry and continues to use it as their primary carry. There are tactical problems drawing an ankle carried gun, as well.
I know some business folks who, when at work, carry their gun in their briefcase instead of on their person.

Get one of those cool rigs that attached to the arm and the gun just pops out.

That's what I'm talking about. But if I have to shed the jacket I look like a huge douche.
I don't believe you would be ridiculed to your face about it though.

I would probably buy a 380 to pocket carry.
1. You won't be in your suit all the time so you won't be forced to ALWAYS carry a 380. You can carry something larger when not in a suit.
2. The 380 may not be 9mm but I still wouldn't want to be shot with it.
3. The tiny 380s are insanely concealable.
4. You are still armed and that's better than not being armed at all.

I have a suggestion. If you are at an event where you have to wear a suit, how about you leve the gun at home rather than focussing on packing so you can show off to your buddies. Firearms are not for showing off at a buddy's wedding.
