Go with a Taurus 357 mag 5 or 6 shot. Still best overall defense round. Check out Budsgunshop.com.

Their 6 shot is really a S&W 629. Taurus bought S&W's tooling of their 629 many years ago. I have a .38 that I bought dang near 40 years ago that I paid around $100 new. I still keep this gun in my truck.

They can not handle hot loads like a Ruger. FACT.

My S and W's are all pretty damned good from revolvers to semis to when they made shotguns.

Investment casting---Ruger, is, inherently weaker than forging....Smith and Wesson.

But, you buy what you "saw on the innerwebs, Playa...."

Shooting for 40 years doesnt have anything to do with knowing structural integrity.

Go shoot 300 grain 45 Colt hot hand loads in a Ruger Blackhawk and some in a S&W N frame model 25 and see which one gives out first. Won’t take you 40 years to figure it out
