2,4-D is a good chemical but it does not kill grasses only broadleaves. Do not get it anywhere near tomatoes. It gasses off and can travel half a mile on hot humid days. CO-OP quits selling in my area after cotton comes up because of this. For the grasses just use a roundup with a 41% active ingredient and mix it at about 2-3 ounces per gallon. For longer times between kills use something with a residual in it.

Hence the reason I said mix 2-4D AND 41% glyophosphate it will kill EVERYTHING in it's path.

Wheat has a leaf and 2,4-D will not do shite to it. Atrazine, if you have access to it, is also good to put down after you have killed everything .

after a few weeks of cleaning and repairing existing fence that was left to "wildlife habitat", I think I will pass on that.

isnt 24d salt based? wouldnt that rust my wire?

Roundup is very corrosive especially to galvanized steel. Has a lot of salt in it.

ok so roundup is out of the question then. what can I mix with diesel to give it the extra oomph to keep everything dead for as long as possible without destroying my fence.

I use a combo of 2-4D and 41%glyophosphate (roundup).
That's what we used to use too. Mixing 24-D and roundup will take a little longer for it to work but it will work.

What kind of fence is this? A few drops of roundup isnt going to rust it instantly. If it does you have a shitty fence.

True. The moisture all that grass is holding up against is way worse.

its good quality fence, red brand, but id prefer to be proactive and not spray something on the fence that could cause it to prematurely fail.

Mixture of Diesel and used motor oil. Kills whatever it lands on - sticks to leaves well and will help preserve your fence

Works the best however it's against the law to spray 2-4D between May 1st and Aug. 30th.

Just a little FYI for any law abiding citizens on the OB.
