Anyone ever caught Bar Pit Bass? We caught a bunch one night. Had an artificial bait that looked like a shrimp fly.
The following are the types of fish I've taken from the Mississippi River:
Chanel Cat
Blue Cat
Flathead
Hardhead
Gaff Top Sail Cat
Buffalo Fish
Eels
Croakers-------only when the river is real low and saltwater makes its way upriver
Redfish----same as above
Striped Bass------only one time years ago.
In all the years fishing the river, I've never caught any species of bass other than a couple large striped bass.
