This and coyotes was my excuse to buy a 22-250, if I’m gonna send it for the sake of sending it, I’m gonna do it at 4000 fps.

My 35 Remington Henry Big Boy does a good job here in Cen Tex. It's a thumper to them & my shoulder but I love that gun.

BassPro in Katy sometimes has some if you’re in the area. That’s the only place I’ve ever seen it

Thanks for the heads up but too far for me. Around here Academy was the only place I'd ever see it. The online prices are ridiculous. $4 a round? Nah...

ETA: I'm kinda leaning towards the .308 just because the ammo seems to be more readily available than other calibers, thus little cheaper except for .556. I'm also not OT rich.. so some of these calibers suggested ammo is too pricy for hogs IMO..

308, 5.56 and 7.62x39 make a lot of sense if you are going to do some shooting. The other more exotic calibers are just window dressing that make no sense at all due to ammunition cost and availability. Toys are made to be played with and if it gets too difficult or expensive it just doesn't make sense to buy that toy.

I would have said ak a month ago and earlier. But I been watching videos of the Aussies destroying the things with buck shot autos...

So I been looking at some budget and medium price ranged autos with and without optics... I'm dying to get one with a aimpoint MRO or a low power dot maybe a 2x. They seem to work pretty good obviously not 30 rounds or 50+ drum mag then a fast mag change good. But I think that buck shot has a good thing going for them.

If you want a flat shooting round that can reachmost of my buddies into sniper stuff say get a 260rem and don't buy into the creedmore fad creedmore is marginally better the 260 so just get the 260 that has cheaper ammo.

But going off that thinking prob best to get any high powder round that you can get ammo for easily. That's prob 308, 5.56 and 7.62x39

Really, a 556/223 with with 77g or 75g HPs would slay. A 308 in 168g or 175g would obviously do an even better job, but I don't think it shoots as flat as 223.

This really depends on your situation. If you plan to feed them in one area and post up to shoot them time and time again and use for deer, then the ar10 platform is probably your ticket.

If you plan to walk around, move around and stalk them out, then maybe the ar15 in a grendel is your option. But ammo selection in these time means the 5.56 is your option.

If you want to have a beater that’s convenient…I’ve killed more hogs with my 30-30 because it is always near me. I don’t have but maybe $4-500 in it.

I think I’m going to move to the howa in a grendel in a few years. Something that is light, small, but can also reach out. I’ve found I need more range and I just don’t follow up on shots so much to need the semi or level action.

I’d stick with 223/5.56. The reduced recoil will make getting back on target for subsequent shots much quicker. Especially when looking through a NV scope

In my ag fields I just use an AR15 with green tips. It will kill them but they can usually get out of the field before they die. I dont usually eat them but I am trying to keep them from eating my soybeans.

It is a pain in the arse to get a rotting hog carcass out of a combine. Also had one get wrapped up in the disk. Was truly a disgusting deal to get it cleaned off.

Ar10. I have owned and been happy with both the Smith and DPMS ar10 rifles.

PSA is a major player now and the reviews are very good. I have no experience with it however.
