You will have a harder time fighting the squash bugs than you will the heat.

Any tips for preventing this? I struggled with insects badly last year.

Sevin-dust for the chewing bugs, malathion for the sucking bugs.

never had a squash bug eat on my maters. my squash on the other hand

Now cut worms will kill a plant at the ground and we always put a galvanized nail at the base of the plant to prevent the worm from wrapping around the main stalk.

Never heard of this. Please explain.

We're in upper middle Tn, and have always planted Better Boys with good results. But we missed the flavor that we "remembered" about Creoles when we lived in La. We ordered some seeds and plan to experiment.

I plant creole, better boy, and grape tomatoes with a lot of success. I love the grape tomatoes because I'll just eat them right off the vine while I'm working in the garden.

Is it Creole? I know they were developed at LSU.

I ordered a half a ounce of the creole tomate seeds ,out of a hardware store in Baton Rouge they got here on Monday . But they sent me all they had for a little over 4 bucks . About 2 1/2 ounces that is close to 15,000 plus seeds . I will keep 500 and a freind has a tomatoe farm in Pikeville Tennessee he will grow the rest .He has 50,000 tomatoe plants a year . The creole is a good tomato
