I liked Benchmade a lot more before they started offering to destroy confiscated guns. that turned me off of them for good

Saw this on Reddit that some orders were being cancelled for some reason.
I'm in Louisiana and got a shipped email with usps tracking info. Upon further investigation, its status displays shipping label as being created but not yet picked up. We shall see.

Ordered one yesterday after seeing this. Also in Louisiana. My order is showing picked up from Chandler AZ store by USPS and arriving Friday.

I was on wrong on page one. Good for y'all. 
While personally not my cup of tea, it would make a great gift for a couple of people close to me.

I've never had an OTF so I pretty much ordered it out of curiously. From what I've seen on youtube/reddit, the folks who paid $300 plus for it were pretty pissed. The folks who paid $100 for it are happy with it.

I got the Chinese stuff before Covid, and ordered them online from whatever that site was (also got some Saints jerseys for cheap).
My impressions- I think the Microtech design is superior. Just a better spring layout.
Difference between the real thing, and a well-made copy; mostly seems to be case material. The real Microtech appears to be aluminum, the fakes are something heavier and softer. The blades on the fakes are a decent form of stainless, not looking at one right now to list.
The difference in prices at the time- the Microtech Spartan was around $300 or so, and I think BladetechHQ had them on sale for that. It's a nice knife.
I got the fake Microtech Scarab for around $30, and the fake Benchmade Infidel for about the same.
They came in authentically marked fake boxes. I bought the "Benchmade" to Jim's, and the guy behind the counter thought it was real.
After comparing real and fake, the real IS nicer, but not THAT much. The better quality fakes are probably 85-90% as good, way more than 10%.

What’s the benefit of an OTF knife from a folder? Its got a cool factor, is it just that they are smaller?

My son just texted me to say he got his delivered. Mine is suppose to be here today.
Really don't know other than for a self defense. I bought my daughter a microtech for just that.
I have several OTFs. I just think they're pretty neat. I carry some of them often. But my absolute favorite knife is still the Benchmade Bugout. I carry it the most by far.
ETA: just got it. I like it. I thought the case might be plastic but it's aluminum. It is small. It's about the same size as the Microtech UTX-70 although the UTX is a little sleeker .

Got mine as well. Actually showed up a day early. As mentioned, it's small, but I like it. Deployment feels smooth. Very fidgety, which I like out of my knives.
