I’m usually strictly a bass fishing guy, but I stumbled on some crappie a little while back practicing for a tourney on Rayburn. Went and bought some jig heads and baits and went back and tried my hand at them. Man that shite is addicting! Nothing like watching a big crappie break out from the school and smoke your bait as it comes by. Or just watching your bait disappear into a big school of them, then feeling a thump.

Some pics of the results:

I'm wondering if that livescope would work for mangroves

It's pretty much my favorite thing to do. Caught 15 monsters today in this wind and high pressure on a lake people say has no fish.

Are you going to fish the opens? Schedule is a no brainer

It’s pretty hard to see single fish in less than 5 or 6 feet of water, especially if they’re right against the tree. You can see them pretty well on horizontal structure though.

Signed up myself. Going to be my second attempt at the opens. First one didn’t pan out like I hoped but this one will be fun

Only bass I chase these days are in a pond. Now when I take my boat out, I focus on crappie and catfish. It’s more action packed and keeps the kids entertained.

What depth were you catching them at?

Started out catching them a month ago in 8-12 feet, this past week they were gone from there and I had to relocate them. They were in 17-20 feet.

LiveScope has turned a lot of less than mediocre fishermen into good fishermen. It’s like hunting high fence but for fish. Before long you will be able to hit a button and tiny drones will go out and bring the fish in for you.

You're gonna see bass tournament trails go the crappie route soon, one trail with and one without front facing sonar. It's that big of an advantage that you can't fish bigger tournaments "old school" looking at side imaging, brush piles, and lake maps

Yeah, some of mine were belly to the bottom. Fairly recent development.

Nice haul, can’t wait for my boat to get here and install mine on it. Is the live scope hard to learn?

Will never happen the pros are busy making commissions on sales of the shite. I hate it I think it’s taken away all of the gut instinct and sensing a change in the conditions and adapting. But it’s never goin away

It takes some time to learn exactly where you're looking because it's not exactly straight the way the trolling motor is pointing. You may have to mess with your sensitivity to get the picture clarity you want, but as far as seeing the fish and stuff it's pretty straight forward.
