Something light on the wallet preferably. I want to add a spinning setup soon for throwing wacky rigs and lighter weightless plastics. My current setup is a Falcon Lowrider MH/XF weightless worm rod with a Revo S. It's great for things like flukes and weightless texas rigged senkos, and really great for topwater baits and rogues and shallow cranks, but I hate throwing weightless finesse worms on a baitcaster. To get the bait out there without overruning the spool you have to really cast it hard, and that sucks when there's low hanging trees everywhere...I want something I can just pitch into little holes.

Plan on getting a Shimano Sedona reel. I'm thinking some kind of L-ML or M dropshot or shakey head rod would do well. Something between 6'6" and 7' probably. This setup will double as an extra trout rig as well, but it's mainly for bass fishing. I was thinking of just getting an All Star Classic in an action I like, but I can't find one even online. Suggestions?

I use a St. Croix Avid 6'9" ML/XF. It's absolutely perfect, but it ain't light on the wallet.

that, Castaway or Canelas Fish Eagle II. I kinda need a new one. Mine is too heavy.

Can't find a Castaway CTX I really like...there's a 6'6" medium listed online but I couldn't find one in the store to feel. My buddy has a CTX and it's nice, but seems like they run a little heavier than listed, and I'd rather to the light side of medium

Right now I'm looking at a St. Croix Triumph 7' ML/F. $80 at BPS.

I'll check out the Cabelas rods, I was actually planning on doing that.

All the All Star Classic spinning rods they have at Academy now have split grips, I don't like that shite on a spinning rod. They also only have saltwater rods for baitcasters, I can't even get the topwater special online anymore Looks like I'm getting a Castaway topwater rod now.

There's a St. Croix Premier that looks nice, but I don't want to pay that much. Also TFO makes one I like, but I'd rather spend less than $100 and it has a split grip.

Check around ebay. You may be able to find a Premier a little cheaper than stores offer. It's a hell of a rod for the price. Check out St. Croix's Mojo line too.

I'll keep that in mind.

I hate em
I'd get a BuCoo before one of those, or the TFO rod. Mojos are too tip-heavy for me

My dad bought a few of those a couple month ago. I'm still not a fan of that style rod.

Yeah, those. I just like the classic look and feel of the cork. My hands sit weird on the split grips. frick em!

I'll only use cork.

I like the split grip on my weightless worm and spinnerbait rods I have. I wouldn't mind it on my worm rod. Anything else where I might throw with 2 hands, like a spinning rod, saltwater rod, frogs, and anything heavy, I can't have it.

The Lowrider split grip I have feels sweet though.

I'll spool one spool with 10 lb fluoro for bass and another with 20-30 lb braid for specks. Reel will be a Shimano Sedona 1000.

I may end up doing that with power pro and a fluoro leader. Not sure yet.

I'm think of doing the same thing with a 1000 model shimano spinning reel.... Plan in floating the upper amite soon and think it will be perfect for that

St Croix has some nice 2 and 3 piece spinning rods that would be perfect for that.
