My son just suggested we go fish the banks at Venice or Fourchon for fun tomorrow. No boat available to us.

Any suggestions on spots?

Fished banks in Fourchon but never Venice. Would the fish even be off the road this time of year?

Go past Fourchon and go to Elmer's Island and fish the surf or go to Grand Isle and fish off the fishing pier by Bridgeside Marina

Surf is prob better right now or a deep canal with moving water.

Not a bad plan. The bridge on LA1 (Cheniere) right past the turn to Elmer's Island has great fishing with good tidal movement.

Bring a cast net for shrimp if you go to Elmer’s island.

Best luck was on la1, old la1, some reds and specks and lady fish- a flounder also. Hard heads were stacked up in marinas that was tried as usual

Hit Elmer at wrong time probably- tide was moving out hard

Yep- caught lady fish and white trout. Had a couple reds and specks also. A flounder on a cast that didn’t go as planned, bait sat on bottom for a minute- surprise
