Yes, they band cormorants - a friend used to shoot them off fish ponds and found one banded.
I've got 2 greenheads, one of which I drew straws on b/c me and my friend shot at exactly the same time, the other green head I shot in '97 and the bird was so old the band was worn slick. Two wood ducks and a dove.

Blacksheep uncle of mine knocked down a dove on opening day. Looked for it for over an hour while countless flew over his head. We were laughing our asses off at him, till he found it. Was banded up in Northeast, near Connecticut. We always thought those opening day doves were locals!

A couple of Mallards, a Pintail and 5-6 Wood ducks, can't recall and don't feel like walking out to look at my lanyard to see.
Mallards from Saskatoon, Sask. and Klamath Falls, Oregon.
Don't recall the Pintail, maybe North Dakota.
Woodies from Catahoula Lake, Mound, Somewhere in north Mississippi, Kentucky and one from Eufaula, Alabama.
The one from Alabama was hatched in the spring, banded in the summer and I killed early in the season. Why he migrated due west would be interesting to know.

Fair enough
I pushed them pretty hard for a number of years with probably better than average opportunities. I picked up one or two a year. Several times on a Woodie beatdown we'd shoot our birds then pick up and not know for sure who killed, so we'd take turns or pass the bird. Thats the reason for the uncertainty, that and I'd call in my brothers bands for him because he could care less. I probably average about one limit of ducks per season for the last 4-5 years.

Don't say that. I had mine with my lanyard stolen out of my freaking truck. They could have taken my gun and I wouldn't have been as pissed. I just don't know what kind of person can do that and sleep at night.
For the thread I have 7 came from mallards and woodies also killed a double banded dove this year.

34, same thing happened to me before last season with 2 teal bands on it. Really can't imagine how someone stealing from cars in a neighborhood would have any interest in a duck call lanyard and calls!

Second goose I ever killed back in around 1994 was a banded Speck, banded in Saskatchewan 3 or 4 years before.
ETA: LOL. MSWebfoot beat me to it.
All those geese we killed in Kansas over 2 years and nary a band!

Had a buddy that executed a creep on a small flock of Specklebellies...smoked two and they were consecutive numbers.

1 Redhead- buddy stole it
3 squealers- 2 banded in Oak Ridge La, 1 in New York
1-Mallard Drake- North Dakota
2 banded mourning doves. Didn't call in
Been on hunts with others were killed that were either disputed or given to the blind owner or dude with the dog. Also watched my fat bro in law kill a banded black duck in Oak Ridge in 2010. My dog fetched it. He kept the band
