Damn, all you have to do is type 4L80E in on Google, and you can come up with built up reman ones from very reputable companies for $1400-2000

Look at gmpartsdirect next time you want OEM parts. You get to bypass the huge dealer markup

Year make and model would help tremendously but $2200 on average isn't out of line for most.

Saying 'you can get a new one online for $X amount' is only half the story.
It's going to cost you $250-500 each for removing it and then the same for putting it back together. So even with buying a brand new transmission you are looking at $500-1000 in labor.
