Create a reforms account with the ATF. Do everything electronically if you can.

https://eforms.atf.gov/

If none of your local gun stores can take your fingerprints, go to a UPS Store location. They’ll do it and take your picture.

I think NGT will send you cards/ink to do it yourself and then you send it back to them and they’ll digitize them for you. But I’d try getting them done locally if you can.

I just got a pending on the 20th. I sure hope this isn't another 12-14 month wait for me.

If your wait exceeds the average, currently 53 days, email the fbi.

its a simple nudge is all. works for individual or trust. just make sure you're not doing it the moment you get home from submitting your paperwork. actually wait until your average wait time is exceeded.

multiple cases on r/NFA has shown that nudging the FBI via email has worked. in most cases, you're probably waiting on the ATF to send the approvals out.

if that doesn't work out for you, call/email your US Representative with your info and they'll forward it to the folks that need to be alerted.

Last question, what exactly are you asking them and what information are you providing?

"My name is mylsuhat, I am checking on the status of my NFA application which was submitted in February"

Something like that?

you'll need to give them your control number with the form that was submitted.

The FBI will often tell you if your stuff is cleared or at least suggest it's out of their court. Sometimes people report they indicate there is some hold up, etc.

The IPB@ATF email on the other hand, is useless.

My Form 1 was approved just now. 7 days from submission and this was for a trust

Just waiting on the form 4 for the suppressor.

ETA: Since I did this on eForms, they just sent me a PDF of the application with a picture of the stamp. Do I just print that off as proof of the stamp?
