I know most are hurting as the rest of us are that are shut down. Even though the state allows them to fish not many people going. I would highly recommend if you are considering it and feel safe going to go they are small business and can use any help they can get.

Most have full boat openings every day at least the ones I spoke with in Venice did talking yesterday.

I'm sure the little girl with the big fake tits in slidell is still running. She has to supplement her bikini pictures with pics of fish every now and then on her IG page. I'm sure your son would enjoy the view as well

Any suggestions on a good place to stay a night or two down around Lafitte?
Probably going to let the little guy do some bank fishing and try catching some crabs before or after the fishing trip.

SELA or SWLA?

Another poster above posted a link to an OB topic about Big Lake.

Good guides in that area.

We have a camp in a grand Isle but I’ve made a couple trips the last few years to Calcasieu because they catch bigger specks.

And I like every single one of them.

ETA: Now that I think about it, I don't think I have ever seen a client picture on her IG.

Think she’s more of a social influencer than a charter captain. Would let her hold my pole though.

If you’re going to go out of Venice, take the advice of what others have suggested. Grand Isle is the area I’m most familiar.

One thing about Venice though is the amount of guides. There are tons. Make sure you research your captain good and like Kemo posted in the other thread, you should be able to book a trip at a lower cost than what most normally charge.

I have not been to Venice recently but if there are any OB posters who have been down there in the last couple days, how muddy is the water right now?

I know last week I was able to find a good bit of clearer water around Grand Isle and Fourchon early last week. Caught some keeper specks and probably 60 throwbacks. The bigger trout should be getting a little closer to the coast in just this past week.

Whichever place has the cleaner water, that’s the place I’d go. When I say clearer I mean not chocolate milk.
