Haha...nevermind...it IS to the right of the big one. IMMEDIATELY to the right of it. The thing way to the right is the tower.

That's what I was talking about, I can see a smidge of daylight between the big one and it. I zoomed in on my phone to see it

.I'm amazed some people on an outdoor board have never seen one. I see them quite frequently...and sometimes multiple at one time.

When they come on land do they become tornados?

Yes. But they are almost always EF-0 tornados, and die almost immediately on land. EF-0 is maybe 70-80 mph winds.

Like I said, ALMOST always.

It's been about 15 years ago but we had a waterspout chase us from the Fourchon jetties. On the way back to the launch we came much closer to a second, larger waterspout in the middle of the bayou almost at the port. We were still watching the first one and didn't see the second until we were damn close. We pulled in at Charlie Hardesons and watched the second spout come onto shore and start flipping boats and do a lot of damage in general. It had very successfully turned into a tornado and headed on over towards Grand Isle. For a while it looked like it was coming more or less right at us but it went to the north by a few hundred yards. Literally an awesome thing to see.

If you fish near the coast enough you will see plenty. Basically a tornado over the water and luckily i have never been caught in one and was always able to out run them.

I've seen a bunch of them. Too many to count. I've actually seen a single squall cell with 3 spouts coming out of it. We try to keep our distance from them, but we've had them come within a couple of miles. It's usually a pretty cool sight.

I was actually diving in Panama City, Fl a few years ago and was talking to the captain between dives when I noticed one over his shoulder. It was a beautiful day. Most on the boat had never seen one, so that was cool. I also came face-to-face (within 2 feet) of a goliath grouper/jewfish that day. The lips on that thing were like dock lines for a big crew boat.

NWS just broke in to tell us a tornado warning for Camanada bay.
SAYS there's a waterspout heading towards Grand Isle.

water spout = tornado

there is no difference, at all, in any way, shape or form.

Turn around and sure enough there it was so we picked up and ran untill it died down I have a video of it if I can figure how to get it on here I will put it up.
