Gator Trax
I have been researching getting a custom all alumn boat. So far Ive looked at or spoke with:
G3 - they dont make what I want
Hanko's - their prices are a bit high
Gaudet's - does not do pleasure boats anymore
AlumaCraft - great prices - cheap boats.
Gator Trax - fishing rig - decent prices
Scully's - I have emailed them but they have not replied.
For you All Aluminum boat owners, what do you have? I

I have Xpress now. It's not bad. Better than the G3 I had before.

Lowe also makes a good boat. I've been thinking about getting one of the lower end bass trackers to destroy on Wallace lake. It's hard to make a boat survive out there.

I checked out the gator trax boats at the sportsman show a couple months back. They look like quality boats, looks like they specialize in mud boats though. I liked them, some of their shallow water redfish rigs they had were amazing

It honestly depends on what size boat you are looking for and what you intend to do with it.
If you just want something for the bayous and flat water, any of the mass produced boats you listed should be fine.
If you are looking for something to take some seas and last more than a couple of years with no issues, I would strongly suggest Hanko or Scully. Yes, you will pay more, but it is worth it. I have a Hanko and have been very satisfied with it.
One word of caution with Hanko: whatever they give you for a timeframe to build your boat, double it. They are notorious for missing delivery dates.

What we want in our boat
18-19 foot
side console
tunnel hull if possible
no carpet or wood
2 rod boxes
extended decking
4 stroke Yamaha motor
the boat will primarily used for bass fishing in the spillway area but also used in the marsh for searching out the reds and specs.

I use to have a 21 ft hanko. They are the cadillac of aluminum boats. I could fish the ship shoal area in the morning then 8 inches of water for reds on the way back in.

Well um going to Gator Trax this Wednesday morning for a tour, and to get up close review. Talked to a guy at a gas station filling his up. Said he loved his boat.
If I can strike the right deal I will put the money down to start the build.
I'm ready to FISH!

Give a call to Martinez Welding. He's built anything from huge aluminum bay boats for our sheriff's dept to crawfishing skiffs. And he's known for his good work.

You won't be dissapointed with Gator Trax. Their customer service is second to none. I have known them since they were building boats out of a barn. They are very good people and even better to do buisness with. I have looked at their fishing hulls, they look nice and of course are built like a tank.

Same here. I have my dad's old war eagle a 15' 1995 model and it is still going strong. Has a few battle scars though.

Xpress, but don't know if they make a tunnel hull.
