I have little kids but they say they didn’t do it.
I have three upper windows that are broken from the inside including the attic where they don’t go.

Is there a phenomena that breaks small upper windows from the inside?

I’m thinking it’s a 70% chance they are lying.

The window guy says it’s settling DT cracks going in every direction and it happening in three places. Insurance may cover.

I would check out the Fairy Godmother or the Boogeyman then.

When this gets into the 90s, there will be hope for you.

House shifting? I’ve seen houses with trees close to them that when in a drought, the house would shift and windows pop if sealed too tightly.

Yeah, I'm not saying, 100%, for sure that they broke the windows and are lying about it. Due process is still sacred to me.

But, they almost certainly broke the windows and are lying about it.

Well,
Doesn’t look much like an impact.
Could have been a bird.
Where was the glass. Inside, or outside?

Yes kids lie but.
If they broke one they sure as hell wouldn’t have done it twice more unless they are really just bad azzzes.
The picture from behind the curtain looks like something thrown at it would have hit the curtain first before impact. I can tell you from experience most windows can handle a college size football thrown by the average 6-8 yr old.
The attic one says something else is going on...

If it was the kids doing it accidentally, it doesn't seem very likely that all of the broken windows would be upper ones. I think you have some improperly built window headers.

If it was an issue with your house, I wouldn't think you'd have 3 break in the same day and certainly not break bad like that. Like one would crack one day I would think and then another crack another day. I'm no expert but unless you had an earthquake that's a bad break.

What do the others look like? With a hole in the glass to me that seems like something went through the window IMO.

How old are the kids? Seems to me maybe a BB gun war or something?

That's a good point, but I have the same issue with the kids doing it. Our family had 4 kids, and I only remember 1 window ever getting broken out.
What are the windows relation to each other? Are they on the same wall of the house?
You didn't maybe spray these windows with a water hose, when they were hot did you?

I had some do that over the winter. I thought a neighbor shot it out with a BB gun, but the outside glass is fine. Called the manufacturer (Marvin Windows) and they said the house shifted or the seal could have failed. Mine are out of warranty.

Thanks.

Would not have exceeded deductible as well for three windows.
