Any feedback on the new Clash 2? Looking at getting some new in sore stuff for some specs and reds and the likes.

I’d like some feedback as well. I currently have 2 original penn clash reels. Great reels.

No experience with the Penn Clash ii, but the shimano stradic fl at the same price point is awesome.
I doubt you'd go wrong with either. Penn rarely misses on their gear.

I have the Spinfisher VI and like it a lot.

I was looking at those too. I cant decide if I want a inshore set with the lighter Clash 2s (2500 and 4000) and a separate surf set with some spinfisher VI (2500 4500 and 6500) or just do Spinfishers across the board.

I think Penns are great reels but I find them heavy for inshore. I had a buddy talk me into getting a Daiwa Tatula LT 2500 and I love that reel for reds and specs, it's about 2.6 oz lighter than Penn Clash 2 2500 but same price range.

That is a pretty lite little reel. Penn has a light one as well (not as lite as that). I have been using a 2500 battle II for years so any of these will be lite weight lol. I like the sound of the Leveline oscillation system to reduce wind knots and that some of it is sealed. Not sure how much any of that really matters.

I have 2 penn conflict 2 3000s and I love them both on shimano clarus rods. I also have a penn battle 2 1000, 2000, 2500, 2x 4000, 5000, and 8000 also a battle 3 6000. And I can safely say that the battle 2/3 reels at their $100-150 price point will be more than adequate for anything up to 8ft blacktip/nurse sharks. I exclusively fish the marsh and ocean with all my penn reels. I have caught multiple black drum and redfish over 10 lbs including 3 black drum over 25lbs with the penn battle 2 2500, still feels luke the day i bought it. Other than rinsing them I have never done any other maintenance on them. The only reel I need to do maintenance on is my 8000, and thats after 10 sharks 5-8ft long. It needs a the drag system to be replaced it started sticking on a monster nurse shark and I think it made me lose about a 7ft spinner shark. I don't find going up in price after the battle series adds much value. The reels are already bulletproof and have more than enough drag to tear your arm off or break a rod. I only own 2 conflict 2 3000s because I bought both used from a guy that used them one time and just prefers his baitcasters, I bought 2 combos for lest than the cost of 1. I just don't see the use in paying more than the battle series, the conflict and I'm sure the even high priced clash are definitely nicer. But for a spinning rod in the 1000-6000 range the battles are IMHO the best bang for your buck and I have never used one of my battle 2s and thought I was unhappy with this reel in any way. 2000-3000 sized reels are my sweet spot for marsh /Bay fishing.

I have been running the battle 2s in the 2,3,4,5k flavors without much issue. I get wind knots since switching back to braid. So I liked the idea of the slow Oscillation on the clash 2 to help with that. And I liked they were a little lighter and kind of sealed. I also have a Spinfisher V in a 3500 4500 and a pair of VI 6500s. I was going to update the V to VI and redo the inshore stuff. Idk
That’s why I was wondering if someone here had the clash 2s And had some feedback. Does it all work as advertised.
