I will probably fish it a few times next week. Seeing if they are up on the beds yet? I figure if they didn't last week then they should be full on spawning with 70+ temps all next week.

I'm thinking that in certain dead end canals you can find some 60 degree water temps by the end of next week.

Spillway is on a rise so good luck there, and Verette side is not ready yet, but it won't be long with the days we have coming.

What's the spillway? I hate when my Baton Rouge friends call it that. On my end we call it the Basin

Yes, it's all the basin, but the Spillway is over the levee. When someone ask where you going to fish over that way, most say Verette side or Spillway, anything below hwy 90 we say the marsh.

I think some may have spawned last month. But that place (bayou black) they seem to stretch it out and spawn over a longer period. We catch them with eggs oct to may. But to answer your question, it's going to be on next week.

Should get right over mardi gras. The river has peaked at 13.5 at butte la rose and should be below 12 come wednesday so hopefully no rain and the water in the basin will clear up and the slabs should be on fire come mardi gras weekend.
