Wrenched my wrist up pretty bad last weekend in Delacroix casting a stiff rod and it hurt all week. Reaggravated it today. Makes me hate my fricking brand new all star.

I think I have carpal tunnel and it enhances the issue when I fish.

When I was a teen I casted my rod pretty frequently. The muscles built up and wrist soreness really wasn't a problem. Later on I got a girlfriend and my frequency of casts really went down. Now that we're married with children I'm sure it's only a matter of time before I have to start another muscle conditioning program.

A lot of guys will switch hands to keep one arm from getting tired. I couldn't do it, my casting accuracy was negatively effected when I switched...

I tell all the younger guys to enjoy using stiff rods while you can, a few years from now you'll look back fondly on those days. One day you'll wake up and look around and all you'll have to use is a noodle like Shakespeare Ugly Stick...

Its not necessarily a stiff rod. Its a heavy rod with no counterbalance.
Do your wrist a favor and pick yourself up an Abu Garcia Veritas rod. Lightest rod I've thrown and has a good counterbalance.

Love my veritas with my revo s. after using it awhile, picking up any other rod feels too heavy

Real OB'ers don't complain about wrist pain while fishing. Oh and go with a limper rod that's not an Allstar.
