Worst it's been up here in years. Place I hunt at off of HWY 15 is DEAD. We use to kill our limit damn near every time we we went out there last year and now we kill 1 spoon if we are lucky.

How are you guys faring?

Need rain and cold fronts. The fronts will come starting next week. The problem is there isn't enough water to hold birds passing through as every hole with water has guns on it. Mid December it will get better again if we can catch some water.

Sounds like you're talking about woodsland. My buddy there usually kills a lot of teal
But they've been slow after the opener.

damn good hunting in that area....if it is not happening for you there, it may be time to pack it in for a day of football.

Our place off 15 sucks this year.

Will be my last year there - not enough quality birds for the price

We are a one man limit shy of our entire total from last year. So last year was way worse for us. We arent setting the world on fire or anything, but we are averaging about 4 or 5 birds per hunt.

We have more at my place in southern Illinois than I've seen in years. Looks like they just haven't made it down yet. Weather is finally supposed to turn real cold this coming Wednesday.

It’s been slow at our place up north of I-20. Just like someone already stated...it’s too dry.

It's really not that bad. I hunt north of Mer Rouge and down off 15. It's been 75 degrees all week. What do you expect ? I've heard people on 15 really complaining this week that really need to take the weather into consideration. 2nd split will be just fine.

we have had to hunt till 11 most of our ducks are coming between 9 and 11.

now we are not taking the mallards we have in the past couple though.. but when Mizzo is full of green - well there you have the answer...

hence son and friends making run to MO as soon as finals end
