Anyone been to Lake Chicot lately?

What are they? It looks like two huge cottonmouths to me. Not the best pics to ID though.

Chicot park is a overflow for corona.

My grandparents live on Chicot, they have some monster ‘nakes out there. Whole lot of nope in that picture

My girl found a 4ft water snake as straight as an arrow the other day on the bank sunning itself.
I thought it was dead until the tounge flickered. She said it's a water moccasin. I grabbed a stick and caught him and threw him back in the water. Watched it swim away. No different than catching any other snake. Stick on or behind the head and grab it.

What is your reason for defanging it? You do know they will grow back, right? For lack of better vocabulary, you are just torturing the snake. Why not just kill quickly kill it?

2 big water snakes. usually pretty aggressive as well. I used to have to pull them out of my gill nets a lot when I was a kid. bite will bleed a lot, but NOT poisonous like a cottonmouth. they need a .22
