So there was an owner in between?

Because your post makes it sound like Wildrose breeds across today, which is in fact wrong

Wildrose dogs are British as for Duckhill they may have crossed but I have Milinors book and have never heard anything about him cross breeding. My take is what you see at Wildrose is nothing like what was sold in that Mike Stewart has carefully built up the kennel to make them the "brand" for british labs. Place is impeccable, like an Orvis lodge. Now a buddy in my club has a Duckhill dog and he is a good dog but he was not impressed with the facilities.

I think Wild Rose is Orvis endorsed.

OP, have to ever saw a British Lab? True British Labs do not even look like American Labs. Saw way to many in dog shows. Short legged dogs with big bodies, very wide chest and a big head. Hell their bottom of their chest is about 14; off the ground. Just couldn't see it working in Louisiana marsh.

Don't British labs have a big ole pit bull sized head? I'll pass.

American is much prettier

Yes they are Orvis sponsored, and they are smaller on average than American labs and do not have blocky heads. Go to their website Uklabs.com and look at the sires and dames, they provide weights. Mine is a foxred, the sire is Big Red and she is 62 pounds which is considered large for a female.

This. It's not as if there is a shortage of dogs in this country.

People that buy english labs only buy them so they can tell people they have an english lab that they had shipped in. There is no other reason to do so

This feels lile a shitty infomercial where they roll out a Brit or an Aussie to make the product seem more legit

In the late 70s my family had two dogs straight from England. They had amazing pedigrees from two different lines.

They were bred 3 times I believe.
