30 caliber carbine stamped with S D PRO and then the numbers 208 6128.

Just want to know a little about it. Approximate value. Was drilled and tapped for scope. Iron sights still usable. Minor cosmetic flaws and PawPaw's initials carved in the stock.

No desire to sell just curious about value so I get a fair insurance valuation for the boat accident I will suffer tomorrow. Imgur not cooperating. Thanks for any help.

Standard Products company, WW2 MFG.

LINK

1200-2K but drilling and tapping and initials will hurt it

Are you scheduling it on the policy or in case you have a claim on your current homeowners policy?

I guess I do not get the Imgur thing. But if anyone wants to repost that is fine with me.

Are you wanting a value so you can schedule/itemize it on its own policy? Or are you wanting a value, so you know how much to claim if you have a loss on your normal Homeowners policy?

I value contents for insurance companies around the country. Actually just completed one this morning with 6 M1's

Search Gunbroker for M1 Carbine and you can get an idea of what the current prices are. With the modifications it is no longer a collectable but certainly looks nice. Enjoy shooting it!

Just an insurable value is what I was thinking about. Just want to make sure I understand valuation if needed. For homeowners policy.

Thank you for that. No real sentimental value but it is a cool piece. It has 3 magazines and I have around 100 rounds of ammo. Gonna send a few downrange Saturday and see how she groups.

I have the same gun. It was my dad's. My first gun was a 38-40 but once my dad saw how much it was worth he gave me his carbine. It was the first rifle (other than a 22) that he ever purchased. Dad passed a few years ago but I left it at my mom's so the nephews can hunt with it when they are visiting. I doubt I will ever see that gun again except when I am visiting. Love shooting that little gun.

You will get the value stated above in the thread. Just remember most HO policies differentiate between a theft loss and other. in a theft loss you will have a limit. A lot of policies are around $2-3k total. Anything over that limit will first get applied to deductible, then the rest is lost to the limit.

If you were to itemize it and schedule the gun separately, you could value up to $2-4k for the gun alone, but you pay for the value. so higher the schedule, the higher the rate. With this type of insurance, you are covered under pretty much any loss though, with no deductible.

Hope this helps

Hey on the 38-40. I have one I got from my great grandfather. What kind of value for one of these?

Gun/Jewelry floaters run about $1.25/$100 and include mysterious disappearance, loss, theft. Biggest issue is having the items properly valued and updated periodically.
Liberty Mutual has no sublimit on guns with their HO policy.

Curious abut this one as I was the carbine. Thanks again to all who share information. This is an 8mm Mauser. Bushnell scope. Curious about provenance, value, and potential collectability. Also curious to know if it is a "keeper?" I do remember it being fairly accurate as a kid killing deer with it.

That's a k98 mauser.

it's been sporterized with the new stock. Hurts the value but still a great gun.
