Calumet or East Timablier is about the best I can tell you, but that is a long fricking ride. Unless you drive back up to Fourchon.

I know the weather is supposed to be awesome, that usually plays into good fishing. But sense the waters are warming up I am afraid the fish will be more lackadaisical than usual

My father in law limited out yesterday - in Barataria Bay. He has been doing well there the last few weeks.

What was he using as far as bait? Live or plastics?

I'm heading down Friday.

He is old school - catches his own bait (pogies)with a cast net.

If you know the area - fish the normal summer spots close by first (ind island, queen bess etc). If you have to, you can run down to 4 bayou's.

Thats me. I'm old school too! I know the area real good. I still haven't checked the tides yet, so I will plan around that. Thanks for the heads up.

Tides are good this weekend. I'll be in Cocodrie on friday fishing and in Grand Isle for Memorial day weekend. Good luck.

I use a 150 qt icechest with a pump. The trick is once you catch them, change out the water a few times. They will shite in the tank. That is what kills them most of the time. Also, don't overload the tank. In the 150qt chest, I will only put about 30 in it.

I rarely use live bait. We won't even be bringing any. Not knocking live bait I just like artificial.

When time is limited, livebait is the shits! But yes, I will use plastics and a few bass crankbaits that are hot for trout.

went the weekend before mothers day and had 3 man limits of trout on both saturday and sunday. we where fishing live shrimp on a 1/4oz jig head by the rocks in front of grand isle. gonna try the same thing this weekend if the water isn't too stirred up. otherwise, i'm hitting the bay and probably 4 bayous.

This weekend. I haven't saltwater fished in over 20 months. I don't care if they have the meat wagon waiting for me at the landing. I'm going.
