Overall thoughts? I was looking at the 21 Ultra Elite. I like the options for cushions on the front deck when you’re not fishing and cruising with the family. But the thing that’s always turned me away from them is the height of the bow off the water. Is this an issue for trolling motors? Anyone have anything bad to say about the brand and/or model?

Can't speak to that model, but I just bought a 16 JVX a month ago.

Been out a few times in an inland lake and love it.

The long Minn Kota riptides should work.

I had a 198dlv, no issues with trolling, just getting wet. It was a great boat, but any chop at all, and I was wet.

I don’t own one. They are generally considered to be a low tier brand of boats and cheaply made. They will beat you to death in any type of chop.

That said. It’s a lot of boat for the price. Lot of room and a stable platform for a family to fit into.

I’ve had a Sea chaser 1950rg for about a year. Fished and rec’d lakes. Fished the red out of Shreveport and fished big lake a few times. Pretty dry ride

They're simple boats but they are well made.

I've had a 17 JVX for 3 years and have been very happy with it. It's perfect for me since we have a LOT of very shallow water, I can easily pull it with my car, and I usually fish solo.

I agree. They are built like tanks.

I had a 97 J16. I loved that boat, and used it both duck hunting and fishing. I can be a bumpy and wet ride sometimes, but it was a flat bottom boat. They are built well. Family just out grew it.

I have a 2003 Sea Chaser 1800RG which is made by CS, love it. They make a quality product.

have 2 of them. Main boat is the Sea Chaser RG2100 and love mine as well. Great riding boat. Huge for a 21.5ft boat being 9 feet wide and it is extremely dry very rarely take any spray at all. Actually just put an ipilot on it over the weekend. 36v riptide terrova with 72" shaft and it gets the lower unit PLENTY deep. Could have gotten away with the 60" really.

also have a 19ft flat bottom older model Carolina SKiff. Straight flat bottom type for crappie fishing and floundering......totally different boats the flat bottom is rough as crap and extremely wet in anything beyond a light chop. But I do not use it out front mainly only in lakes and in skinny water since it floats in 6" of water. This one I have an older Great White trolling motor on 24v 72lbs thrust 52" shaft i think. Might be 60" but think its 52" no problem getting in the water

Dad has the that bottom one. It's rough and you get wet, but it serves the purpose. We had a 50 hp. We needed a bigger boat but couldn't really afford a bigger boat with bigger engine. Due to the weight, we could push a 17' with a 50. Then some of us eventually got too fat for the 50 but we could afford the engine upgrade at that time. :)
