I don't remember how to post pics. A guy I know got bit by this. Is he going to die from the snake or the China flu?

Say your goodbyes. Rat snakes are highly poisonous. I’m joking

Thanks. The guy that got bit is an old man that didn't want to chance going to the doctor or ER.

Nothing to worry about, unless he doesn't like rats

Keep it clean and he'll be fine.

Just bought my first house in Metairie, I had a garder snake in my backyard last weekend. I grew up in kenner, and have never seen a snake there my entire life.

I like snakes so I hope i keep seeing them. Anyone else see snakes by there house in Metarie?

Not a Grey rat but a brown rat, FTR

Usually pick them up around the outside of the house and carry them off to let go in the woods. Usually.

Today was walking the pooch on the walking trail around the neighborhood and heard some pitiful crying. Moved the leaves to see a black rat snake choking out a baby rabbit. Before I could get him it went down the hole it had pulled the little guy out of.
Went home and got the suppressed buckmark and evened the score for the baby rabbits. Only one little fella survived and got away that I saw.

Usually let nature take it's course but had to get involved today, downvotes and all.

It certainly has some red and I figured someone would suggest corn, but it is a rat snake. Corns have a spear point between the eyes.
