Keep it classy.

I for one am thankful that some of you aren't in law enforcement.

I'm not ashamed to admit I wouldn't make a good cop!

Thank God you're not. The Parish/City would go broke from the wrongful arrest suits.

I will never understand pulling a trigger when you're not 100% sure of what you're aiming at. Prayers for the family.

A lot of us get use to shooting in low light situations and have been successful in killing at this time of the day. So we push the dusk/dawn to the edge and beyond. The point I am trying to make is, I bet this kid has killed deer in this same low light situation and the law of averages caught up with him. But it could have been anyone who pushes the low light hunt to far.

If true, then yes, it definitely changes how I view the accident.

Who CARRIES a deer out? I guess I could see it if it was small, but it would have to be very small before I'd ever consider throwing it over my shoulder. At worst, I'd have a rope tied around it and be dragging it out.

eta: and common sense would tell me to never carry it out for this very reason.

Just assuming here, but I'm guessing he meant that he was dragging a deer out. Not actually carrying.

If he was dragging it, that would make even less sense because how bad of a shot do you need to be to shoot at a deer that is sliding along the ground, miss and hit the guy dragging it? Man, oh man.

I carried a very small maiden doe out once. It was simply easier than dragging under those circumstances. I got quit bloody.

It sounds like something passed around after the fact, honestly. A maybe that turned into part of the story. Probably never know.

The investigation is complete? Can you link to where it has been ruled an accident? How do you know there wasn't a motive? You don't until it plays out and even if it were an accident I think charges can and should be filed.

I'll go ahead and give you my first ever down vote even though I don't know what the frick it means.
