Granted its a little different, but you're still catching a fish for no reason other than entertainment.

A little different? Would you rather me tackle you and hold you down til you say mercy or blow a big fricking hole in your chest with a .44 magnum? I would equate it more to people that keep EVERYTHING and never catch and release. It sickens me to have to throw out meat or fish for whatever reason.

These people saying "they only hunt for meat" I sometime wonder how they feel about catch and release fishing.

If they're releasing dead fish, you may have a point.

It's not my thing, but it may be someone else's. Trophy hunting can serve a purpose.

That's my feelings. To each his own. And I would be that every damn piece of those animals were eaten. Even if the hunter didn't, someone did. I would take some solace in that. I'm planning a safari sometime. I want to take a honey badger with a pocket knife. I don't plan on eating him, but I will if I have to.

I'll save this for your obituary.

Would you please make sure they honor my wish to be buried in my lion head hoodie?

You gotta hunt the honey badger wearing only the lion skin hoodie.

I would wear that sumbitch everywhere.

You'd also have to have a tailor fold it in half so it wouldn't drag the ground

Yeah, a lot of the guides up there appease their conscience knowing all of the animal has to be salvaged. Guess it doesn't matter who pulls the trigger or gets the hide if someone's eating bear sausage.

Good luck with that. If they're anything like a wolverine, you've got some work cut out for you.

It sure can but call a spade a spade. For the vast majority of these wealthy hunters it is "TROPHY" hunting, yet they like to Facebook justify it by calling it "Conservation"

Maybe. You've gotta judge people you don't know t: come to those conclusions though.

I've been involved in "trophy" hunting before as an apprentice guide, and trophy hunters can definitely turn you off. Some would go shooting at a zoo if they could get away with it. I've had friends bend to pressure to break laws so they could get their trophy. Some have more money than sense.

But, not all fit in that category.

My idea of a trophy is a mature male of a species. I love the thrill of scouting, hunting, then harvesting one particular animal. That's why I don't deer hunt outside of south Arkansas. I don't give a shite about spread or points. I hunt the most mature bucks available on my land. When I harvest one, I get the same thrill regardless of size or some arbitrary score.

Yeah, I've never got into scoring game. Our deer here are pretty small though.

I'm the same on my place. I'm suppose to be going on a high fence hunt this year so i'll see what that's all about. But rest assured i'll be eating any critters I kill there.(Unless they got Lions & i'll just make me a coat )

Wow, seems like there is a lot of hate in this thread.

Typical liberals, can't see the forest for the trees.
