Do you realize that GM paid back all of their loans? Not only did they pay them back but they did it on the Feds' terms earlier than required. I do not understand why people are still upset. Hopefully you took a few economics classes and learned about to big to fail. It would have more detrimental to the country if they would have gone under. Fact.

General Motors’ (GM) troubled lending arm remains billions of dollars in debt to taxpayers.

Wasn't a bailout or bankruptcy. And yes it probably helped them through a rough stretch, it was a loan to develop more fuel efficient cars.

When you get older you will quit listening to "reviews" and think for yourself. Those reviews are bought and paid for every year.
My thoughts for myself:
Tundra styling is not that attractive (particularly crew cab)
Fuel mileage is poor
Power to weight ratio is poor
Crew cab bed is one of the smallest available
Toyota ergonomics typically suck
Toyota did the least with their redesign of the manufacturers with regard to new parts, features, etc. And the Tundra was exactly a world beater before that. They are content to be an also ran and sell to true believers.

From my research, the Tundra actually had the second best mpg rating right behind Ford.

too much stink in one pile of bull shite,, the flys are even repulsed.
Econ 101....it's my phuquin money and I'll spend it on what I want to..
I will not spend it on a vehicle that I felt that I had an undevided ownership already in. People bitch about people taking handouts all the time,, but are willing to continue to pay companies that do the same thing? Go ahead, that's certainly your prerogative,,, but I hope you never have anything to say about free cheese, free phones, welfare, section 8, stamps,, not a damn thing about anything free to anybody or anything.
btw,, yeah,, I had several economics classes,, liked some, hated some,, but I did notice that NONE of my professors ever had or ran a business of their own. JMO

GM/Chevy but they took a govt handout and ford didn't.
while true about the infamous bailout, Ford aint no stranger to Govt money:
quote:
Ford Motor owes the government $5.9 billion it borrowed in June 2009, the same month GM filed for bankruptcy.
they all take govt funds
I got no problem with what you like/buy, but thinking Ford doesn't take gov't money is just silly.

Huge difference between bailout and loan
The bailout was unprecedented, loans from department of energy are pretty common from what I understand.
GM did nothing to change it's poor business model, bond holders were fricked over royally..so eventually it will fail again.
Ford sold many of it's assets, restructured many aspects of it's company. Which has helped in it's product it sells.

The GM Bailout was largely a bailout of the UAW from what I understand.
