Always check anything floating and if there are chickens be watching for a bull
I would be willing to bet that beam floating had some dolphin or cobia swimming beneath it.

I think a bull dolphin is going to be next up on my bucket list - offshore edition.

But to each his own.
Like everyone has said, find floating objects, no matter what they are. We usually pitch small baits to them, or cut bait.

If you see them, cast a top water plug/popper and work it as fast as you can. Have 2 rods set up like this. When you hook up and get it to the boat, leave it in the water. This will bring more to you and have the second rod at the ready to cast. Once the second rod is hooked up, bring in the first fish, unhook and be ready to cast for more. Leave the second fish in the water till you hook up again and repeat.
Draging weed lines are good too, but a lot of work keeping the lines clear of grass.

Just stop by anything floating in blue water and look around. Best is to cruise along a grass line (broken or thick) and have someone look over the side till you see some. They will bite on almost anything, fast moving jigs work well. If you catch a couple chickens, a bull is usually hanging around.

I hear that. The more people that are too drunk to fish means less competition out on the water.

Who did the replica of yours? That must be a badass piece.

There were mother frickers at every platform I pulled up to this weekend.

They were pretty sporadic in ST, but our honey hole was packed. Luckily, we seemed to be on the right corner, as we were pulling fish pretty steadily and no one else seemed all that busy.

Was it KingSaifishMounts in Ft. Lauderdale by chance? My dad is getting a blue marlin done by these guys.

I got a 62# mounted that is over my bed at my parents house. I have moved about once a year the last few years so I am afraid to ever bring it to my place cause I don't want it to break while moving it.
Looks awesome.

I freakin' hate litter, but I do love to spot a pallet or something floating in some blue water.

Guys, I hope you don't mind, but I compiled a little document from the advice I have seen in this and the other recent dolphin thread and created this:
