a trailer boat plug that’s not a cheap piece of crap?

I’m sick of fighting with this kind of garbage. Surely there’s a better product out there?
i need it to fit into a PVC drain that’s glassed into the transom
I do need it to be inside the boat, if I take a wave I need to be able to pull it and run the water out. Anyone know of a better plug?

I've had the same one of this type for 8 or 9 years. Used it this morning, no leakage.

Baw, that plug is 50 yrs old. Send you’re address and will mail ya a half dozen that should last 20 yrs.

I know it looks like it but it’s only a year old. It’s just cheap Chinese garbage. I do have a handful of the ones Loup posted but I always seem to cut my hand on the sharp edges of the handle.

Sounds like you need a bilge pump, evidently the plug you have now keeps the water in…
If you are dead set on a new, different plug, Attwood makes quality boating accessories. Amazon is really convenient, but you may want to try Bass Pro Shops or Cabella’s…

If the thu hull is DEFINITELY pvc, you could glue a threaded bushing in and use a PVC pipe plug. Would never leak, super easy to replace, etc etc. Its good enough to keep your house from flooding to shite, easily good enough to keep water out your bilge.

Buy the one Loup posted and a spare. Also, get someone to help you install a bilge pump.

Make sure its PVC. PVC glue only glues PVC to PVC and it is basically useless for anything else. 5200 on the other hand will bond basically anything to basically anything else if fully cured.

thanks it’s PVC I built the boat. We just glassed in the pipe thru the transom and ground it down flush on both sides.

cgrand, I assume you are using that sled in saltwater. Have you ever rinsed it off after using it.
