I’m trying to do some research on pricing of 7” pine (I realize there are numerous varieties involved). Baton Rouge area
What I would to find out is wood/sq ft price and installation price (sanding, shoe molding, glue etc) this is glue down. I’m trying to match the flooring that’s already in the house.
I already have the stain match from the seller.
Thanks

Have you called around anywhere yet for prices ? How much flooring has to be replaced? Did you have damage to some of the wood already installed or switching to wood from other flooring types?

I called one place today and it was about $8 for 7” antique pine about 500-600 sq ft. I haven’t measured yet - I don’t have access to house yet.
No damage, part of the house living room, foyer, dining room, study and hallway already has floor I’m just finishing bedrooms. Pulling up carpet

Figure $12/ft. $5 or so for wood and $6-7/ft. for labor, good adhesive and finishing.

Why 7", is that what's in the house somewhere? Never heard of it if it's old and I live in NOLA.

its what already in most of the house, I figured the seller either found some excess etc. Because they would only do part of the house. I think this because only the bedrooms are left to finish (even the hallway is completed).

Good luck, would be interested to know if you find it. People I know are buying old 2x6 studs and then plane them to get flooring. 2x8's would be over the top $.

The floors are about 7 years old and besides a new coat of polyurethane that’s about all that’s been done. I’m quite aware that some installers won’t touch anything over 7”.
They always suggest a moisture test prior to installation, allow the wood to sit in house for several days before installation and even some type of moisture prevention (I’m not sure of the terminology) glue

I have well over 600sf of 3" that is well over 100 years old that came out of New Orleans. Every bit is quarter sawed. Very tight grain wood. Was going to used it in my guest house, but I might not. Might just sell it. Anybody know what it sells for?

Total cost for wood plus install will end up being around $13 per square foot. If in LA around Baton Rouge, look up Higgins family at antiquewoodsource.com or else the Corbel in St Francisville
