i have a 3 year old lennox system that has a faulty evaporator coil. My home warranty company will cover the labor and lennox will cover the material cost of the evaporator coil. The warranty company just called and said they will not cover the cost of recovery and disposal of the refrigerant. Why does the refrigerant have to be disposed of i thought it could be recovered and reused, and is $300 unreasonable for this cost?

call Lennox. 3yr old system is still under warranty. They may be better help for that. it's their damned fault you're having to do this.

i agree but their warranty is for parts only not labor. their is a class action lawsuit involving this series i own, but they have no problem willing to pay the parts.

nope not any more, many years ago they "all" stopped giving long warranties.

buy a new system and all you get is one year warranty and there are companies that started a whole new industry selling extended warranties for all a/c systems. its basically what i call a/c insurance coverage.

years ago we used to sell units with factory 10 yr parts and labor warranties, that shite no longer exists any more

Goodman sucks arse. I hate that company. I had 3 of their units on our and and not a single year has gone by that we didn't have an issue with at least one of them.

Bought the house new in '09. They're warranty is only 6 or 7 years.

last year the two downstairs units started leaking in the coil and we had to replace both. We went with carrier.

I called Goodman last year trying to get them to help up and they refused to do anything.

Screw them, I hope they go bankrupt...
