Thanks for the heads up I forgot I had made a thread in a separate part of the forum from the bragging spot that I posted my finished product. I bumped the original thread and directed them to the new one

Nice! Dumb question tho, why/what are the “squares” on the side of the hull?

Just a little bump. How’s the boat coming? I had this bookmarked
Posted on 1/10/23 at 7:46 pm to duchuntintiger
Also, did you guys figure out the deck material?
Posted on 1/10/23 at 9:14 pm to baldona
It’s coming slowly. Engines are in and sitting the shed. I’ll get some pics and update what all has been done since last bump.
Progress has been slow since our buddy is 28 going on 95 with a bad back.
Deck is going to be plasdeck.

Little bump. Can’t wait to see complete

I heard they were building peace a much lower sided model in this size. Any pics of that ?

Not really much to update unfortunately. My buddy has been slammed with working on other peoples boats and hasn’t had much time to work on this one.
I believe he’s hiring another hand soon and he will be able to get back to finishing this one.

I saw it a few weeks ago when I went by his shop. Definitely gonna be a badass rig.

Razorhead boats are like the Honda Civic of boats

Haha shite what a bump.
Not really much to update. I’ll get some pics in a week or two when I’m back by his shop but he’s been too busy working on other boats to finish his so there’s not a ton to update unfortunately

Armrest looks like it'll be a back breaker when you're standing(mpst of the time). I'd taper it the other way, or even beteer is a flip up arm rest. You can still put AP controls in thatif you do it right
Cool boat! My first thoughts when being pics was this armrest was going to be a problem. I own a large offshore center console and I can tell you that being able to move from one side of the boat to the other, via the space between the helm and the seat, is important. Having that armrest sticking out into that space would cause a lot of problems. In real world fishing, docking, and general boating the capt needs to be able to move freely across the helm from beam to beam.

Ive fished a few times on two seperate 40'+ razorheads. They are cool boats, the wide beam and aluminum make it just a tough machine ready for battle. After spending time on them, as with all boats, there are a few quirks. The bow is super tall on these things. When they come onto plane the capt cannot see the water for a long time lol. My buddy who owns one is shorter and it annoys him a lot. He should have build the helm seat higher or the height of the bow should be designed lower, but Jory likes to build them big and proud to keep spray out. Also you have to have really long gaffs to grab fish. You cannot reach the water leaning over the gunwhale on these things at all.
The lifting strakes on the leading edge of the keels make the boat come on plane and ride high really easily and its fast fast fast in calm water. But in seas the hulls to not slice like other cats. These strakes tend to make the bow want to stay on top of the wave rather than cut through it. The boat will be faster than other similar size cats, but pound a bit more in really big seas.
The paint is coming up in several places. Not the fault of Jory, it was painted by a 3rd party. But it is a challenging thing to paint properly from what I saw.
HD Seadeck is badass and made the boat much less loud and less "bang" when it hits waves. Getting good insulation on the hatches matters too. The way they come from Razorhead is very raw and the hatches definitely bang and make a lot of noise when offshore.
Lebrocs FTW!!! So simple but good seats make the boat such a joy to ride out on relative to plain bench seats. One of the razorheads had bench, the other lebrocs and it was night and day difference in comfort with proper lumbar and back support
ETA I love seeing Pellegrini doing the wiring and electronics! Both boats I have direct experience with were wired by people that are not as precise and experienced as Pellegrini, from what I've seen of their work. TONS of electrical problems on both boats so far. Its awesome the owner is investing in that to be done right. Really important IMO.
