So you don't have a permit? OK.
What about your rifles? You need to hide those too?

Speaking of 4 WD vehicles and getting stuck it has often occurred to me that facebook would be the perfect medium for vehicle revovery in remote area. This isn't nearly the problem east of a line from Houston to the Canadian border but it can be life threatening in some parts of the country. I stuck a Tahoe as bad as I have ever stuck a vehicle in my life in New Mexico one morning about 20 miles from the nearest asphalt and about 8 miles from the nearest oil field road that saw any traffic at all. I didn't have cell service at the truck but I knew I did back at the oil field road because I always make certain to know, kind of, when I lose service so I know how far I have to walk if something happens. I made it back to the oil field road and started calling folks and got a buddy with a Jeep with a winch to come bail me out....but if I didn't know someone there ain't anyway in the world you could pay a wrecker to go in there....money wouldn't help much if you didn't know some folks who could help a brother out....but a facebook page set up for just this kind of situation where you could post a cry for help may be the difference between retrieving a vehicle in a day or so and doing so in a month or so. Just a thought. As mobile as we are today it ain't unusual for a person to reside in any area where they don't know a lot of people.

This could work for boat problems also....nothing like being on an isolated lake in the winter with boat problems...its worse than being offshore, trust me, I have been in both situations and at least off shore there is the chance someone will be on the water with a radio...20 degrees 70 miles of bad roads from anything??? Maybe not so much....

So, you've never encountered anything like that?
No

Yeah, when I'm out west, I think about that kind of stuff. You can drive miles and miles, and never see a soul. when you get away from the roads, and service goes out, you can be messed up.

It used to be that way everywhere. I used to work on The Tennesee River, especially back before there were any cell phones. I always used to work the upper end of Wheeler Lake, because that's where I made the most money. There aren't any houses there, because it's all wildlife and Federal property.
On weekdays, you would just be the only one out there a lot of times, especially in winter. If you had a problem, you were on your own. You learn to keep a lot of tools with you and extra parts. Out west, it's even worse.

You need to hide your weapons, when going to a range? What kind of Cucked up life do you live?

The kind where you may go to the range after work, or after kids baseball games.

How was this hard to understand.

I don't remember anything about baseball games, or work, being mentioned in that post. Just going to the range.

That's the part I replied to. Is something there now about baseball games and work there now? I guess somebody made an edit.

So the only time you go to the range, or to the store, or to work, or anywhere is to go to that specific place, then back home, reload then to the next place.

Seems incredibly inefficient, but what ever works for you.

Keep up the good work

You care enough to be purposefully ignorant and dishonest to prove a point that no one is arguing.

So, add tone deaf too. What a piece of work

Are you paying any attention to the responses you're getting? Does doubling down sound familiar at all?

When I go to the range, it's an all day thing, because I will take several rifles to check out/sight in.
I don't need to go to a range, for plinking with a .22 or a pistol, I can do that at home.

So we are suddenly talking about shopping now too?

When I moved to New Mexico I was dumber than a sack of hammers about this issue. I had NO idea how easy it was to get in EBF for sure.....it was un-nerving at first but I soon realized how nice it was to be outdoors ALONE! And by alone I mean nobody no where...its great, but it does require some things that I never did before, like keeping bottled water in the truck, a space blanket and a lighter that works. I have needed the water before...probably not life threatening but certainly would've been uncomfortable.....but never the other 2 items. It is a lot like going offshore alone...I used to do that pretty regularly also but those days are probably behind me....you are on your own when things go well but also on your own when things go south....

Where I live now, is a pretty small county population too, 14,000 people and most of that is centered around the town areas and the main highway. when you get away from there, cell phone service is iffy and nobody is going to be coming by, when you are off cutting firewood or whatever. When I have to go do stuff like that, I draw my wife an exact map to where I will be. Just in case I break a leg bad, or screw up somehow.

No we are talking about storing guns in a compartment of a Ridgeline. You are the one that dismissed it because you claim it has no purpose in YOUR life.

You call that being a cuck.

I think you are overcompensating for something.

Where I grew up there was this group of kids that were little dirty shits, we were all poor, but they were trashy. They told tall tales. They had BMX bikes when we all had other types. They put a whole lot of their worth into their bike being cool arse bikes. But they never hit the ramp at full speed.

They didn't like playing sports, because we beat em senseless, when they did play and got beat they wanted to fight all the time. Until they got hit, then they fussed about it all day. Never played sports in high school because they lacked the discipline to be coached. They all grew up and got really big trucks that make a lot of racket.
They still live right around the area we all grew up in. They still tell tall tales.

I dont know why that story just came to me.

There is zero reason for you to have a 4wd if you are not going off-road

2wd will handle a decent size boat on a steep ramp
