That's the only instance where it's going to be superior. But I've never met anyone that shoots whitetails at 400+ yards regularly enough to where that would be justified.

And even then I'd choose the 167 in '06 simply because it's a more perfect BC and will be more accurate than the 180.

It makes no difference which one you get at that range. They're practically identical.

thanks........I really think I need to shoot my .308 more.

I shot it some Saturday and I was dead on @ 100 yards.

I need to have more confidence I guess.

Was shooting Federal Vital Shoks in 165 grain

If you've already got a .308, you don't need another deer rifle. Which is not to say you shouldn't get another one, you should always get another rifle. But the .308 is death to whitetails if you use the right bullet.

The .280 debuted as a Remington cartridge chambered in the 742 and thus, it was loaded to lower pressures for the autoloader.
Remember when it was the 7MM Express?

Yes, they are quite cute. I especially love the magical outperformance of one in a family over the big/little brother.

I don't understand why people wouldn't just get the bigger load and end the discussion. It gives you more options in what game you can take.

Then someones quotes the 308 is the preferred sniper round.
