I am now, but I was once :shudder: a rifle hunter. I'm sure I will return :shudder: to those ranks to introduce my son to deer hunting.

Good list.
Seems like I left out some in the 6.5 to 6.8 range. All I needed was 15 to cover my mouth

But the .308 is death to whitetails if you use the right bullet.

Gimme one I should buy and get zeroed in with

Haven't bought ammo for .308 in a zillion years. What I would recommend is low weight/highest velocity available/fast expansion.

Whitetails are thin skinned and not that thick across the vitals. If you don't get that bullet transferring energy as fast as possible to the target (slowing down), it's wasted as it leaves the other side of the animal.

That said, I don't recommend you go down to the 110 gr because it tumbles in the .308. We load 125 gr ballistic tips for hunting whitetails but I doubt you'll find any of those for sale other than the 'managed recoil' stuff which is not going fast enough to maximize the destruction compared to the same round loaded hot. So find a 150 gr since those are common, look for a fast expansion bullet, and get it running as hot as you can find it. It's not going to be as accurate as a 167, but it will be more deadly on a whitetail sized target.
