You're going to love that thing. They cycle a little slower than other semi-auto .22s,but man are they accurate shooters. congrats. Let us know how it shoots.

I'm pretty pumped.

Unfortunately I tried the mineral spirits and the stock was in bad shape.

Sanded off the old varnish and ordered a kit am in the process of staining and oiling it based on recs from the internet and a kit.

Cleaned the barrel up but left the patina on it. Oiled it up. One more sand with 1000 grit and one more coat of tru-oil. Ill post pictures you guys want. I wish I would have taken a beforehand. It was extremely rough shape.

Update on mine:

New firing pin in it, still wouldn't work. Figured out it was also missing a sear spring. Robbed the spring out of a clicky pencil and had it pew pewing kinda like new. Trigger pull was about 20 pounds so I took it apart again and hit the sear catch on the grinder and tried again. 5 grindings later and its running like a champ!

Thanks for getting me kicked off on this!

Yea...

It is basically a striker-fired rifle. The trigger pushes the sear down which releases the firing pin striker thingy. The sear can only go down about a 16th and the new firing pin striker thing had a little more than a 16th of sear catch on it.

Did you get to shoot it at any targets at any distance?

So here it is. Sorry my personal phone broke and my work cell is crap.

Not sure if I want to leave glossy or buff it to as satin f in finish. What say yall? Im stupid and was excited and didn't take a before picture. The kids are so excited. I underestimated their excitement.

Yea. I'm wondering how this gloss will be with the fingerprints.

I have a week to decide. The kit says 7 days to wait before using the buffing compound.

Went ahead with the satin finish. Here is the end result.

Dated the gun. Ended up beingade.in Feb 1935. It is so damn smooth now. Accuracy is amazing. It is dead on. The bolt springs back on its own now. I could get used to this gun refinishing business.

And girl.

My ten year old girl is the best shot out of all of us. Haha. I need to start her on some competition and make some money. She's so patient and steady. It pisses middle boy off.

It's great. Thanks for the feedback. That took two weeks to do it right.

Didn't mean to leave her out. My buddy's 14 year old daughter has been shooting a Winchester 1873 .32-20 for 3 years and she is sniper focused behind the trigger.
