22 Foot Skeeter - Need Help

I'm looking at a 22 Ft Skeeter Bay Boat. It's a 2011. My issue is that it has a 150 Yamaha 4-Stroke. Is this enough power to get the boat out of the water with say 4 men, fishing gear and ice chest?
Thanks for your help

I wouldnt go with less than a 200 on a 22 bay.

I'd say it will but won't be very fast doing it. It would have to be a great deal to go for an under powered boat IMO

Yes. It won't be enough to make it go real fast but it will plane out easily.
I've got an 18' Polar 181V with a 90hp. It won't fly but my GPS tells me that it's going 35mph on a WO throttle. Best thing is that is sips fuel. This will make you very happy when you go to the pump.

Nascar - What would you call a great deal on this boat? It only has 29 hrs, fully stock and not a scratch on it.

I wish I could afford something like that

Propped right it'll do fine.
I've ridden in a 22ft pathfinder with a 150 hpdi that had unbelievable holeshot and would run 52 with four people. Great on fuel and was just overall a great setup and a pleasure to run.
Of course if 52 just isn't going to cut it, you'll need to get into the big boys and hang a 225 off the back.
Eta: I should also add that pathfinder mentioned here has a hydraulic jack plate and hydraulic trim tabs.
It is incredibly nice to operate. Another buddy of mine has the same boat with some flavor of 225 on the back and the 150 smokes the 225 out the hole. The one with the 225 will run mid 60's loaded down though.

I have a 150 on my 2200 Pure bay but it is actually only 21 ft and quite a bit lighter than the Skeeter I think.

It won't jump out of the water, but it'll be fine. I have the Skeeter ZX2250 with a 250.

Ideally, you'd probably want more power but it'll work. If its a hell of a deal, you can always upgrade the motor in a few years (or immediately if its a really good deal).

Go test drive it. Bring 3 of your friends

I have that motor on my 22' Xpress and it goes about 50mph. I would guess the Skeeter is much heavier. If the boat is used ask the owner how fast it goes..

It could do it but you'd wish you had more juice.
