Seems like it is a .224 centerfire designed to shoot heavier than usual bullets at long range targets and deer/coyotes. I built one with a Faxon barrel 16" long and really like it so far. Might take a deer with it in the next week.

My reloads are 80 gr. ELDM's and the factory ammo is 88gr. ELDM. Going to hunt with the latter.

Should be an awesome deer dispatcher. Just put it on the rib cage. The 5.56/223 77 grain TMK does the trick, that 88 grain should do it with even more pizazz. Keep us updated on the ARC’s first kill!

It’s a cool idea but I may end up with a 22 creedmoor instead when I rebarrel my 22-250 because of the difference in bolt face diameters.

I have a .224 Valkyrie MK12 clone build. It’s really accurate. Been able to shoot it out to 800 yards. My son has taken several deer with it using 90 gr fusion rds. It’s similar to the 22 ARC. The ARC is built of the 6.5 Grendel where the Valkyrie is built off the 6.8 SPC.

I have really been enjoying my howa mini in 6 arc. I’m trying to decide if I will do another gun in 22 arc or 338 arc. I’ll probably do both but the 22 arc in a longer 18” or 20” AR-15 and the 338 arc in a howa mini.

In a short action and from a 22-250 I would certainly go 22 Creedmoor.

The real benefit the ARC has is that bullets don't take up so much room in the case.

Having both is a good idea, shoot the ARC for fun to save the Creed barrel.

What I like about the 22 ARC over the 6MM version is the case is big enough to launch high BC bullets faster. Meaning if you read the ballistic tables the 22 ARC has higher retained energies farther. Odd but true.

Is that what I read about the 6arc vs the 6.5 Grendel? Sticking with the Grendel either way.

Fascinating what they are doing these days.

If I had the time I’d put together a 22 arc and a 6mm creed just to play.

I really like this wildcat cartridge based on ballistic data. I’m wondering whether or not it’s a barrel burner. It’s definitely packing the heat and plenty enough to roll a deer. I’m curious about the longevity of it before I pounce.
