Also FWIW. I talked to a fellow from illinois who does waterfowl while i was elk hunting. He said this year has been the best hunting they have had in decades. Lots of birds

No pics, but took three youths Sat. over here in the west zone. Two ringnecks and one gray. Should of had at leeast six. Saw many yesterday touching up my blind with brush.

Never hunted the Wax, would like to but don't have a boat. Haven't made a hunt this year, waiting on the east zone to open up.

general marsh question to anyone:

looking at spots on google earth. should I be looking for little ponds and what not or looking for points?

I realize it will be best to see if there are birds there in person but gotta start somewhere. I've only been on a handful of marsh hunts so I have no clue

They fly pipelines, I you can see the tidal channels running thru them from sat photo, they are the right depth. If its controlled water, totally different. I work from big water to small as season progresses so they can't land way outside decoys.

Ease up bud, there are prob 25+ public spots in the EZ encompassing several hundred thousand acres. Chances we hunt anywhere near each other are a lil remote.
