About 2 weeks ago I noticed a puddle of something that had dripped in front of my truck, didn't think anything of it, figured it was something due to the weather. Truck ran fine. After that I started noticing a fluid like noise under the dash on start up, sounded like waters slushing around, only on start up and initial acceleration. Gauges were all fine. This morning I walk out and there is another puddle but much larger, approx. 1'ft wide by 2' long. Truck had not moved in 12 hrs. On examination, fluid is clear, oily in nature and odorless. I drove it home and looked underneath but cant pinpoint where its coming from. Only place its wet underneath is between the radiator and the front of the engine. AC has ran fine as far as I can tell, never really blew cold to begin with? Any idea of what it could be? Truck has 126k mi FWIW

If it's not engine oil from the filter then maybe AC compressor oil. I would check asap. If your compressor locks up it will rip the belt off and you will be stuck. On another note I have the same truck and the AC does suck. There are a few mods out there I have tried that have made things a little better.

I change my own oil every 5K and it will be due soon. Its def not engine oil. I'll check that and see. Would that be something that would leak more when the engine is off tho? seems like that would leak more while the engine is running.

Check coolant level. There's a seal coming off the front of the engine block that's somewhat known to leak

2013 5.0 f150 4x4
I noticed I had a puddle of clear fluid under my truck today too. Hadn't moved since 8am and noticed the fluid at 5pm. A decent amount had dripped. Mine was between the front wheels on the driver side of the motor.
Odorless but not really oily.
All gauges are fine for me too.

I believe that’s blinker fluid. Check it out ASAP.

My 2 guesses are antifreeze or air compressor.... air compressor would make more sense due to "sloshing" sound if it had air in the coils. Im bringing it to the shop tomorrow and Ill report back. Hopefully its nothing too major, its paid off and Id like to get another year out of it.

Sane here. I'm trying to get to 175k miles. At 104k now.
I never noticed a noise at start up but I'll keep an ear out tomorrow. I didn't worry about it since it wasn't ATF or engine oil. Hadn't leaked since I've been home from work so mine was an isolated incident so far

My 11 is just shy of 100k. Been running great, but starting to sound like a diesel. Guessing timing chain or lifters

Mine did it once 2 weeks ago and now again. If it happens again, you will know what to look for

Just changed the water pump on my 2013 F150 5.0 with 144,000 Miles. It wasn’t a hard repair. Finding the right water pump was the hardest. Some have a 3 hole pulley some have a 4 hole pulley. It started making a funny noise about a week ago. Started leaking bad and making a worse noise before I knew what it was.

The tranny fluid is bright red. Make sure if you are changing transmission fluid to order that piece. It's fairly cheap and easy to install. Have to drop the pan though.

Im at work and was able to figure it out just by what I saw today at the house. Apparently this a problem on the 2011 models. Id check yours to see if you have the same issues. Good Luck! Coolant T-Connector

I'll look into that today. No noise on start up this morning so if it's anything I'm getting it's that connection over a pump going out.

2011 4x4, 6.2L with 175k miles on it. Taking it in for routine maintenance today, will be sure to ask the mechanic about this issue. Thanks for the post, OP.

I checked that connection just to see and noticed some water build up on it. It wasnt dripping but I'm sure it won't be long before it fails
Front of the truck is to the arrow. This is a picture from the under side

My son had something similar on his 2010 F150 a month ago and it turned out to be a leak in a power steering hose.
