The plan was to prime and paint above the water line today, but I underestimated set up time.

So far I have filled rod holder holes in deck hatches and sanded smooth. Taped a paper skirt under the water line and used a drimmel to remove screws that were creating space between the hull and cap.

Yeah I hear ya. Projects like that always seem to take a little longer. What color are you going with?

im bouncing back and forth on white or maybe a lighter shade of sea foam blue or maybe a combo of both.

I decided to try out my new paint sprayer on the hatches before I prime the boat so I dont screw up the hull trying to learn how to use the damn thing. Took me some time to adjust the gun but I think I got it.

I used a two part primer with some paint thinner. 3:1:1 ratio.

First coat of primer is on

Next is to wet sand with 320 grit, apply second coat, wet sand again, wipe down then apply the paint boys. She's almost ready to be repowered

What paint are you using?

I highly recommend awlgrip. That’s what my owner just painted his Viking with.

I’ve been loosely following this rebuild so you may have already mentioned this. How are you moving this boat around from outside/inside, etc?

The hull is rated for a 175 HP, but am considering going with a 115 or 150.

I know that hull, it’s way heavy I wouldn’t go w less than 150 . All your work would be for naught if you underpower that dramatically. Good luck

You probably already know but that aluminum panel the seats mount to is the gas tank cover, a dozen screws and it comes right out. Tank comes out easy too for cleaning and hose work. I rearranged my bilge area to maximize storage with a dry box, tool box, jumper cables, tow rope and extra prop all secured. Way better than how it was before

I haven't decided on which type of paint to use, but I have heard Awlgrip is a good brand.

Boat has been stationary ever since I moved it inside the garage.

I think I have settled on a new 140 HP Suzuki. Hopefully that 10 HP won't make too much difference

Guy I work with has an all white with just accent stripes, slick looking. Like it better than mine, colorwise. Looking good so far

LOL. I couldn't care less, was just confused for a minute before I realized what you probably did. Your rebuild looks awesome by the way.
