are these a car that if done correctly can be used as an every day driver? or be considered very dependable? anyone ever own one? how much would it cost to fix one up? inquiring minds want to know

or is this just a dream car that will never be financially reasonable?

ETA: im in no position to buy this, just asking random questions

are you a mechanic?
are you a mechanic with lots of money?
If you answered no to either of these, please stay away..
I've had about 8 of them, starting in the 70's and loved them all.. Just keep in mind that they are over 30 years old and if you can't afford a complete rebuild or buy one rebuilt and you're not a mechanic,,, well you get the idea... I just sold my last 74 about a year ago..

My opinion...awesome.

But Geauxt is right. Money pit. The only reason I don't have one now is because I have too many other money pit hobbies.

I think you linked the wrong photo. There's no car in it.

And no, take it from an ex-jeep CJ driver, any of these older 4x4 will be subject to rust, wiring problems, stuff vibrating loose, horrible gas mileage, uncomfortable rides, danger, squirrely steering, leaking, and shitty windshield wipers.

All that said, they're awesome toys. Don't get one as a daily driver though. It gets old after a while.

I knew I'd need to be more specific with you guys.

OK.

The focal point of that photo is not a car.

More better?

If you keep and eye out and don't buy the first one you come across, you can find a good deal, with a late model drivetrain.

for under 20 grand you can find 1 like brand new. don't limit yourself to local, look out of state to. there is a place online that will build 1 anyway you want for about 20 grand. if I remember the name of the place I will post it.

I got a buddy who bought one that wasn't rebuilt, but was an "everyday" driver. It has been about 6 months and he is trying to get rid of it. Too much $$$ to keep it up. Gauges always breaking, lights quit working while driving, and it gets about 5 mpg.

This is Bama and Beers 76.

Rust bucket but still runs.
He needs to get it down here so I can get it right for him.
Then when he marries his prego sister I mean gf,
I'll furk her and get it in the divorce on the cheap

They are great vehicles for what they are.

A truck that age will need about 1:1 work to fun put into it. For every hour of driving you are going to put in an hour of maintenance over the life of the vehicle to keep her on the road trouble free.

IMO that is a classic 2nd vehicle that I would never depend on to get me to work on time every day.

thats why I would put a late model drivetrain and autometer gauges. Ive built a couple of early 70s blazers and broncos, with latemodel fuel injected engines that got over 15mpg and were very dependable

Negative my friend. Nice ones can be had under 15k if you look around and know where to look. I just sold my '71. I will have another one day. Hit up ClassicBroncos.com and you can find good deals on there. Plus when it comes to Old Bronc's that forum is an encyclopedia. Great folks on there too

Got a line on well-maintained 1993 Bronco.

Never driven off road. Never driven fast on the road.

Owner simply doesn't use it anymore.

Call (775) 273-1300 and ask for Orenthal.
