You're right....just how in the world did you know that?

(I wonder how many members have no idea what we're talking about.)

Damn, but that thing is gorgeous. I have a CJ7 that I drive daily, but I've upgraded to things like fuel injection and capacitative discharge ignition. If you don't care about being "stock" and are handy with cars, the old Broncos are great, but if you want to keep it absolutely stock and it wasn't meticulously restored recently, then you will be frustrated with the maintenance.

i dont care about stock at all, i would want the car to be as "functional" as possible, if that means new engine and everything im fine with it if in the long run it will be cheaper

ETA: while still looking original to people.

I would love to have one.

A few year back, I was traveling in Idaho and Wyoming and they were everywhere out there. I looked at a few and the prices were pretty good too. I wish I had bought one.

Find one that someone else has already fully restored, I'll buy one eventually but it will be a second vehicle

theres a place in starke fl. that builds them any way you want with 4wheel disc brakes, any gauges aftermarket or stock, late model mustang 5.0 engine, overdrive trans., paint any color and any color new interior. 8.8 rearend and dana 44 front.
$20,000 to $30,000. with warranty.

I called a friend that bought one and left a mess.
when he lets me know i'll post the name of the place and pics of his. it looks like the one in the op.
he paid 23,000 for his. gets 17 mpg he said

i seriously thought the whole world knew that... Or, at least the ones that are over 20 years old..

That whole thing infatuated me from the beginning to the end.. I watched the whole ordeal non stop,, and what a dang sham it turned out to be..

Sounds like you could have fun with it, then. Best of both worlds when you put some new technology in a classic like that. And compared to new vehicles, it doesn't cost that much. It also won't depreciate on ya. It just takes some commitment at the start.

It gets old after a while.

THIS

Lifted badass old 4x4's sure feel awesome the first time you drive them. After you drive it every day for about 2 years, you start wishing you had something more civil.

After 4 years you just flat out get tired of driving that nasty thing around.

I love my truck, but not being able to talk on the phone above 60mph is a bitch. Not being able to park anywhere is a bitch. People not being able to get in it is a bitch. Being 4 feet higher than the cash dispenser slot on a ATM machine is a bitch. Driving around a jacked up 4x4 is just an all around bitch.

And then ya still get stuck.

I missed the jacked up part, I don't want my bronco jacked up. I have some of those problems with a stock f250
